About Eckard Natural Resource Group

Eckard Natural Resource Group (ENRG) was formed in 2003 as a mineral acquisition company focused on water and water related assets.  More specifically, our firm is interested in acquiring and leasing water rights in the Continental United States.  Our primary area of focus is the Edwards Aquifer, which is situated in Central Texas, in and around the city of San Antonio.  The ENRG management team recognized that an emerging market has been underway for the long-term growth potential of water markets across the U.S.

In an effort to capture value in its early beginnings, ENRG identified a specific water market that offered easy entry points, while providing early stage opportunities.  The ENRG management team has pursued and acquired water rights in the Edwards Aquifer for the last four years with ongoing acquisitions and management of these rights.  The water rights to be acquired in the Edwards Aquifer system have been transferable water rights, and each of these rights have initial regular permits (IRP) that have been approved by the Edwards Aquifer Authority (EAA).

ENRG looks at a number of methods for creating value and income from its water investments.  The acquired water rights in the Edwards Aquifer are leased to prospective end users on various leasing terms and annual rates.  These leasing rates are, of course, subject to the market conditions, weather patterns and ultimately supply and demand.  The key component in most, if not all, water markets is that the demand appears to be on an unstoppable increase while supply continues to diminish for various reasons.

ENRG believes the water markets, water distribution, water purification and water management is in its mere infancy as it relates to the future and where the markets appear to be headed.  Billions of dollars are being spent flying space crafts to Mars in order to try and see if water exists on that planet.  How important is water?  “Water is the essence of life!”  We are committed to this sector and to its evolving markets.  The increased demand for water consumption and allocations come at a time that is mirrored with an ever-increasing drop in the readily available supply of water or the necessary sources to sustain the thirst for more water.  There is no alternative for water!
